Cats for Roy - Commission Piece

It has been a little while since I updated this website - I did not realise how long it had been! So this is a little late, but better late than never!

This commission is a memorial piece for some absolutely beautiful cats, and I'm so lucky to have been able to work on this. The base is slate, which creates some really interesting texture on the fur. Surprisingly, the texture was not too difficult to work with, and I'm really glad that I had the opportunity to try a new base material! One of these cats also did not have a clear reference image - but you could never guess from the final piece! I used a few different techniques to try and create an accurate image without being able to actually see the detail, and I'm really glad to have been able to capture an accurate likeness.
